“Destination trips like this where you find yourself in tight quarters with people you’ve never met and no way to bail out are made or lost based on your guides. The cooperation of Mother Nature helped, but this family trip will be a wonderful memory for my son in large part due to the unfailingly upbeat, encouraging personality of Brock. He clearly set the tone for his crew and in turn, the rest of us. He never forced families to do or try anything they weren’t ready to do, letting every individual work into their own river pace. I think that is important — to not force an appreciation of the Canyon until you’re ready for it. Some of the guests have done lots of camping — and for some it was their first time ever! But thanks to the crew, everyone left with new friends and their own memories of an American treasure.”
