Ever wonder about what happens at the operations warehouse during the winter months when all the boats are off the water and white water rafting trips are done for the season?
Well, each set of rafts gets completely deflated and de-rigged. We reinforce rubber, we paint rubber, we patch things, we paint boxes and re-stencil buckets and side tubes. We donate surplus food, we get new kitchen items like cutting boards and can openers. We maintain motors and winterize the warehouse yard.
It is a busy time of year, we call ‘Fall Work’ at the Grand Canyon Whitewater warehouse and many of the guides stick around Flagstaff to help out. After we finish ‘Fall Work’ we have a big company party – that is always a good time!
