Tents. Yes, Grand Canyon Whitewater provides them for everyone. We have two man tents that fit two cots and have two doors. They are great tents and the fleet is brand new this year!
However, I would HIGHLY recommend against using the tents on your rafting trip unless it is raining or looking extremely close to raining. You really don’t want to block your view of the boundless sky and countless stars by a piece of fabric! Sleeping in the open under the heavens is an experience not to be messed with by a tent.
For those of you thinking the tent is necessary as defense against bugs, think again. Arizona rafting and camping trips are different, we have virtually no bugs! It is wonderful. And with the addition of our brand new above-ground cots and ground tarps, you don’t have to sleep at ground level. You are elevated to allow a nice breeze to flow between you and the earth and to keep you off the sand.
Sleep outside on a Colorado River Tour. Try it, you’ll like it. It is a part of your white water rafting adventure that you don’t want to miss.
