River rafting trips on the Colorado River come with some of the best camping found anywhere! There is nothing like sleeping in the Grand Canyon, in the quiet of nature, under the beauty of the starry sky, with the peaceful sound of water flowing past. If that doesn’t just soothe your soul, I don’t know what would. I know there are still some of you out there who just think “camping is not for me.” I’ll bet we could change your mind. Even if you are a first-time camper — and many of our guests are! — we’ll get you dialed in, comfy and cozy.
On a Grand Canyon Whitewater tour, we provide everything you need gear-wise. You will be set up with a sheet, a very nice sleeping bag, an exceptionally comfortable above-ground cot (on our motor trips) or a cushy pad (on our oar trips), a pillow and a 2-person tent. We hope it is so nice out that you won’t even use a tent, and it won’t block your endless view of the night sky. We also fully outfit the campsite. We’ve got camp chairs, and our kitchen is well stocked with everything the guides need to make delicious Dutch-oven meals (and desserts too)! Our bathroom looks just like that little seat you have at home, just without the flush handle and with one heck of a view!
There really is nothing about camping in Grand Canyon to be afraid of. It is a pretty amazing experience. Our guides are really good at helping people ease into what we all understand may be a brand-new, possibly intimidating experience! They’ll show you how to set up your gear and they’ll give you tips to help make your experience extraordinary. Grand Canyon expeditions are a great camping trip for the non-camper and camper extraordinaire alike!
