Remember the Grand Canyon Conservation Fund (GCC) that you may have donated a few bucks to when you booked your white water raft trip with Grand Canyon Whitewater?
Well, THANK YOU, because your few bucks along with her few bucks and their few bucks turned into quite a few bucks! Combined with the bucks that the other Grand Canyon rafting companies raised for the fund from their passengers, we were able to support many projects relating to Grand Canyon this year.
At the end of every year, the head honchos of the 16 different river companies come together to vote on how much of the GCC fund money should go to which project.
I will tell you about one of the projects I find extremely interesting…
We donated a good chunk of bucks to the Grand Canyon River Heritage Coalition to fund the creation of a River Heritage Museum. The River Heritage Museum would house historic boats of Grand Canyon and related artifacts and stories.
I think this is a great idea, a place where we can go learn about the early days of Arizona rafting. It would be at South Rim, right across the train tracks from the Bright Angel Lodge. Pretty neat!
Thank you for supporting! 🙂
