How much time ya got, buddy!? Hiker’s Special trips are incredible! Here are just a few of the things that make these trips different:
- We only run them in April. This means primo, and I mean primo, hiking weather. The average high temperature along the river in April is 82 degrees, and the average low is 56. So we’re talking nice, warm Spring days and cool, brisk nights.
- You get to see things you can’t see for the rest of the year. Literally. Because we’re taking our normal 8 day trip and turning it into an 11 day trip (and 13 up to 15 days for our oar trips), this allows you to explore more of the Canyon.
- Extended side hikes. On all of our trips throughout the year, we do side hikes, but those are usually pretty short (think quarter-mile to half-mile range). On our Hiker’s Special trips, we extend those side hikes to make them 3, 4, maybe even 5 mile + hikes. If you’re one of those mountain goats who loves to hike, this is your trip.
- Be first. We only run one motor and one oar Hiker’s Special in April. Then our season starts in earnest with close to a dozen launches in May. So go in April, be first, be happy.
