For in-bound hikers (Lower Canyon passengers), you’ll want to think ahead of time about fueling your body for the hike.
For the hike in, you are responsible for providing your own breakfast and food for the trail. GCW will provide lunch when you get down to the river, but you want to make sure you have plenty of food to re-fuel your body prior to reaching the rafts.
The Canyon Village Market is a general store that will have all kinds of food you can purchase for breakfast and trail snacks. *Canyon Village Market also rents and sells hiking equipment such as hiking poles if you forgot yours!
If you can’t live without your a.m. coffee, it may be a good idea to make a cup in your room. The Canyon Coffee House is located in the lobby of the Bright Angel Lodge and is typically (but not always) open early enough to grab a cup of joe or glass of OJ after checking in with your hiking guide.
Don’t forget to have a good dinner the night before your hike, as well. There are lots of dining options at Grand Canyon Village.
