For those of you East-Coasters, or all of you for that matter, think of the Empire State Building… Is the picture in your head? Now think of 4 Empire State Buildings stacked on top of each other. That’s how deep the Grand Canyon is, 4 Empire State Buildings deep! If that just doesn’t blow you away- I don’t know what will. Now envision that you could spend your 2011 summer vacation on a rafting trip in that gorgeous, extremely wondrous place deep at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Rafting the Grand Canyon is an experience like none other. If you’re really adventurous, you could even choose one of the rafting tours that allow you to hike into or out of the Canyon, a journey that will bring you a sense of accomplishment for years. Now, don’t think about climbing 4 Empire State Building Staircases all in a row, that isn’t how the hike goes. The hike gains that much elevation but over 9 miles, which makes it a whole lot more do-able!
