You might not believe us now, but we guarantee you are going to meet some new friends on your Grand Canyon Whitewater raft trip. Friends you will want to stay in touch with, maybe for the rest of your life. People meet their future significant others on trips, they get engaged on trips, and they make lifelong friends on river trips. There’s just something about that canyon and that river that brings out the best in people, and brings folks together in the neatest way. We love to see that happen! We love to help facilitate that process!
So! We set up a really easy way for you to stay in touch with your fellow river rats after your trip. It’s not nearly as complicated as it might sound. Basically, each individual trip has its own social site. Think of it like a private Facebook group. You can upload photos and videos, you can download others’ photos and videos, you can comment on everyone’s posts, and you can send personal messages. But — here’s the cool thing — unlike Facebook or your email account, there is no file size restriction. And the site never goes away. That means you can upload as many photos or videos as you want, the site won’t compress your images or tell you you’ve run out of space, and you’ll have access to them for as long as you want. You don’t need a password or a login to access your site; we’ll send you a personalized link — all you have to do is click on it and, poof! You’re in. And, it’s a private page. The only people who have access to it are the people who were on the river with you, including your guides, and those of us here in the office.
We’ve got a little disclaimer on there that grants us permission to share your photos/videos on our own social sites (like our Facebook page, or maybe in a blog) but, if you don’t want us to do that, no big deal. We certainly don’t want that to keep you from sharing your memories! If you don’t want us to share your stuff, just put a watermark on your photos, or post a little comment on there for us, saying you don’t want us to share your images. We promise we won’t share anything you don’t want us to share.
You have access to your trip’s site as soon as you book your Colorado River trip. We encourage you to get on there and introduce yourself to your future friends and familiarize yourself with the site!
