I have had a lot of questions about how the rafts ‘take on’ the rapids and what kind of ride is experienced aboard a motor rig on a Colorado River Trip. Let me tell ya, it can be exciting! Yes, the motor rigs are big rafts nearing 35 feet long, but so is the whitewater on a Grand Canyon raft trip! The more adventurous folk move toward the front of the raft. It can be one wild and wet ride up there, and so much fun. For those folks looking for a less intense ride, the “princess” seats are great. The further toward the back of the boat you move, the smoother the ride. The furthest back seats are what we call the “princess” seats and they provide a fun but more mild ride. The great thing is that each day and throughout each day, you have the opportunity to move around on the raft. Unlike in high school, you are never stuck in the seat you choose the first day. It is fun to move around from front to back, from one side to the other and from boat to boat to mingle and enjoy all the wonderful people on your Grand Canyon Whitewater raft trip.
