“The knowledge, skill and good humor of the guides/boatmen and -woman were key to making the trip incomparably enjoyable and exciting. I had many memorable experiences; the most was probably my difficult hike down the Bright Angel Trail to join the trip at Pipe Creek. Because of an electrolyte imbalance, I experienced a kind of vertigo that caused me to be very unsteady on my feet. The GCW staff members (Misty, Joe, and Erica) who accompanied me and the other hikers on the way down were extremely attentive and helpful in ensuring that I made it safely to the bottom of the Canyon. Without their help, I don’t think I would have made it. Once on the River, I recovered my balance rapidly and had no other problems for the remainder of the trip.”
